WHAT IS AFT™?
AFT™ (Advanced Fluorescent Technology) is a brand new, state-of-the-art technology that visibly reduces vascular and pigmented lesions, evens out skin color, and reduces broken blood vessels. By providing smooth, consistent light pulses, the energy delivered to the skin is gentle and effective. It can be used for any part of the body. The most popular areas are the face, neck, chest, and hands.
WHAT ARE VASCULAR AND PIGMENTED LESIONS?
Red vascular lesions such as rosacea, port wine stains, and facial redness are caused by an abnormal clustering of blood vessels. Brown pigmented lesions such as lentigos, melasma, and seborrheic keratoses, are clusters of melanin in the skin. Usually these become more pronounced with age.
HOW DOES AFT™ WORK?
Selective pulsed light energy is absorbed by the target areas, selectively heating and closing the blood vessels. With pigmented lesions, the light energy heats the melanin in the lesion and causes it to fragment. The melanin fragments are then absorbed by the body.
HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT TAKE?
The treatment takes 30 minutes. For the first visit, allow an additional 30 minutes to develop your individual skin plan.
